Each spring and fall, UCCTU organizes a trip that takes us outside our home river. These trips are a great way to explore new waters for a fraction of what it would cost on your own, with the added benefit of making or strengthening new relationships with fellow TU members. Check out the calendar or the newsletter for more information on this year’s chapter trips. The 2011 Spring Road Trip is scheduled for April 29 – May 1. Trip headquarters will be at the Dillard House (768 Franklin Street, Dillard GA). Located just two and a half hours northeast of Atlanta, Dillard offers a perfectly centralized location for open, tailwater fishing to narrow mountain streams. The Chattooga River offers a great opportunity for the trout “grand slam” with rainbows, wild browns and the occasional brook trout. Several smaller brook trout streams are minutes away and the Tuckasegee and Natahala Rivers are just around the corner.
