Trout in the Classroom

Trout in the Classroom is one more way that we connect with young people to teach them about cold water fisheries in a way that is educational, fun, and engaging. The program allows students in a single class raise trout from eggs in a tank and grow them to fingerlings, which are then stocked in a nearby stream. It is a creative approach for teachers and students that combines science and conservation and a great opportunity to introduce TU and our conservation mission.

Currently our chapter is working with St. Pius X High School and is seeking to expand the program. We supply the equipment, lesson plan, and volunteer support in collaboration with NGTO. For more information, contact Kevin Dent or go to National TU web site
