President's Message

Welcome to the Upper Chattahoochee Chapter of Trout Unlimited's (UCCTU) website. Centered in Roswell GA, UCCTU attracts members from throughout the Atlanta Metro Area. Our 600+ members predominately reside in the area from Sandy Springs to Alpharetta and East Cobb to Dunwoody.

Trout Unlimited's (TU) President, Chris Wood, wrote,

"Every TU member I know loves to fish. But to say that TU is about fishing is like saying that fishing is only about catching fish. Our love of the sport compels us to understand the relationship between healthy habitat, sufficient stream flows and quality fishing."

UCCTU members are conservation-minded anglers who take pleasure in both the river and the catch. Our good work helps to protect and enhance the Chattahoochee River Tailwater – named by TU as one of America’s 100 Best Trout Streams, restore native brook trout to the Georgia Mountains and enhance trout fisheries throughout the state. Enjoying the fruit of our labor, we gather frequently to fish local waters and take several regional fishing trips each year. Recognizing the significance of passing along the importance of healthy streams and our passion for beautiful fish, we support the GA TU's Trout Camp and UCCTU's Rizzio Clinic for young anglers as well as sponsoring Trout-in-the-Classroom at several local schools and Boy Scout Fly Fishing Merit Badge instruction. Adults have the opportunity to learn and improve their angling and casting skill from our Mentors at chapter events.

We work in partnership. UCCTU meets frequently and collaborates with GA Department of Natural Resources –Wildlife Resources Division Fisheries managers, the National Park Service at the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Buford Dam. We maintain a close relationship and team up with the other Metro Atlanta TU Chapters and local conservation organizations, such as the Upper Chattahoochee Riverkeeper and Chattahoochee Cold Water Fishery Foundation, on science-based projects. The chapter advocates with elected representatives and governmental officials on behalf of members for coldwater conservation.

As a member of UCCTU you have the opportunity to protect prime trout habitat, form lifelong friendships and enjoy the personal satisfaction of a lasting contribution. Join with us!

See you on the stream.
